In 2001, my friend and I wanted to start a business in the Bay Area. We were going to do either gelato or Thai food because we loved both.We settled on gelato because I thought Thai food would just be too difficult! Little did I know.

I grew up on a dairy, milking cows, then spent 15 years working in and managing restaurants for Chili’s and The Cheesecake Factory. I never planned on getting into the gelato business but in hindsight, you can draw a straight line from now back to 1979 when I saw a movie called Breaking Away.
